COMPUTER ENGINEERING

    The Department of Computer Engineering imparts training at Post Graduate & graduate levels, in the areas of computer hardware & software for defence related systems. The Department has state-of-the-art facilities & trained manpower for conducting R&D activities in the area of Computer Networks, VLSI/FPGA design, Software Engineering & High Performance Computing.

Department regularly conducts Continuing Education Program courses in the emerging areas of technology as well as current trends.The Department has planned a Post Graduate Diploma course in IT for cross migration of professionals to cater
to the growing demand of IT professionals in Defence Diploma course in IT for cross migration

IT Infrastructure

The IT infrastructure of the institute includes:

• Optical Fiber backbone
• High speed 2 Mbps leased line for Internet.
• Intranet for IT applications

DRONA is DRDO’s private secure network. IAT is one of the sub router

VLSI/FPGA Design Lab

The lab is well equipped to give hands on training on FPGA. Major facilities include
• Xilinx FPGA Kits
• Xilinx ISE
The lab carries out projects in the area of hardware implementation of control algorithms, cryptography algorithms, & protocol stacks.


Network Lab

The lab has a setup of routers and switches. The lab also has network simulator for designing & configuring the network. The lab carries out projects related to information security and distributed network applications.

Advanced Computing Lab

The lab has industry standard Open Source as well as commercial operating systems & tools. Students with varied academic background carry out projects in the area of modeling & simulation, CFD, Software Design & Development using latest technologies.

High Performance Computing Lab The lab has a high performance Linux cluster. The cluster consists of eight CPUs. A commercially available CFD software Star-CD is ported to the cluster. The system is being used for Scramjet, Gas Dynamic Laser and internal and external flow simulations.
