               Dr. Chetan Jagdish Bhongale has been actively involved in multi-disciplinary research viz., organic and hybrid nanomaterials, organic solar cells- synthesis and device fabrication, functional organic nanocrystals, mesoporous materials, self-assembly and organic materials, etc. Prior to his joining at DIAT, he was a faculty in University of Pune. Dr. Bhongale’s previous professional affiliations include post-doctoral research at UNLV, Las Vegas, USA, University of Bayreuth, Germany and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Japan.

               Dr. Bhongale’s key expertise is in synthesis and fabrication of organic and hybrid nanomaterials and their applications in opto-electronics including organic light emitting devices and organic solar cells. He has published high impact research articles in peer-reviewed journals of international repute; those including Angewandte Chemie, J. Mater. Chem., Chem. Commun., J. Phys. Chem. B, etc. Dr. Bhongale is the recipient of prestigious Humboldt Fellowship of Germany and Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Post-doctoral Research Fellowship of Japan. Also, he has authored a book on “Organic Nanoparticles and Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Nanocomposites”

              Currently, he is working as a faculty in Department of Applied Chemistry, DIAT, Pune, India and heading the Laboratory of ‘Organic and Hybrid Nanomaterials’, which he has developed. He has been working on various projects sponsored by DST-SERB, DIAT-DRDO, Humboldt Foundation, Germany, etc. He was successful to get Doctor Blading Fabrication System in the form of donation and several reference books by Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation, Germany.
