Welcome to the platform of the Academic section of Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune. It is now the home to a vibrant academic community of students, scholars, professional staff, and worldly exposed faculty members. Our academic orientation spans the human, and we address questions at the interface of society and Defence from local to global scales. In both teaching and research, we work within and across subject and disciplinary groupings. We seek to develop inter-and transdisciplinary perspectives from strong disciplinary foundations to shape questions and solutions relevant to communities, stakeholders, policymakers, academics, and tri-services.
DIAT has been committed to maintaining the highest standards in primary as well as applied research. DIAT is regarded as the primary driver for indigenous technology development targeting the needs of the nation. Research sponsored by the Government and the industry is expected to grow in the years to come, spearheaded by the faculty and research students. The wide variety of engineering, applied science, and technology management at DIAT provides a unique environment that fosters inter-disciplinary research in cutting edge technology. The areas like Nanotechnology, Additive Manufacturing, Robotics, Ballistic Materials, Welding Technology, Radar, VLSI, Bioengineering, Quantum Technologies, Optics, Laser Technology, Guided Weapons, Combat Technologies, Marine Engineering, Defence Science and Technology, Computational Sciences, Artificial Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Mining- Sciences and Engineering, Antenna Technologies, Applied Sciences, and Technology Management. Such a diversity of in-house expertise at DIAT catalyzes the development of a healthy ecosystem for small, medium, and large industrial collaborators. DIAT’s research programs reach across the campus and beyond, linking together all the departments, schools, and DRDO/ CSIR/ National Level Institutes, stimulating the integration of new knowledge and education.
The Institute supports protecting the Intellectual properties by a dedicated trained team. It creates an awareness about IPR for faculty members, students, and staff of the University and encourages them to conduct only patentable works.
The incubation cell of DIAT coordinates and leverages the synergies in various strands of excellence, driving innovation and DIAT.
