Dr. S. E. Talole obtained his M.E.  in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and  Ph. D. from  the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai.   He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Flight Dynamics and Control Laboratory of the University of California Irvine, USA.  In 1989, he joined the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) wherein currently he is Scientist `G’ and Professor at the Department of Aerospace Engineering and also Dean (Technology) at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology,  Pune.  His research interests   include Nonlinear Control and Robust Control based on Uncertainty and Disturbance Estimation,   with applications in Flight Guidance and Control ,Robotics, and Control of Marine vehicles. He has published over 95 papers in various international and national journals and conferences.  

Dr. Talole  is recipient of the Laboratory Scientist of the Year award in 2002 and  DIAT Researcher of the Year award in 2007.   In 2009, he was honored with the DRDO Scientist of the Year Award. D. from  DIAT (DU), Pune.  She is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering, DIAT (DU), Pune.   Previously  she served  as project manager for campus-wide controller based Wi-Fi Network Implementation Project which manages more than 100 dual-band 802.11n Access Points, and capable of providing seamless high speed internet connectivity to over 10,000 students. Her research interests  include  Cyber Security, Steganography and Digital Watermarking, Biometrics, Multimedia Security. Dr. K. P. Ray (M’93–SM’04) is M. Tech in Microwave Electronics from University of Delhi and Ph.D from Department of Electrical Engineering IIT, Bombay. Presently he is a Professor in the Dept of Electronics Engineering, DIAT(DU), Pune. Prior to this he was a Programme Director SAMEER Mumbai, wherein he joined SAMEER (TIFR) in 1985 and worked in the areas of RF and microwave systems/components and developed expertise in the design of antenna elements/arrays and high power RF/microwave sources for RADAR and industrial applications. He has successfully executed over 46 projects sponsored by Govt. agencies/industries in the capacity of a designer, a chief investigator and a project manager. He was a guest/invited//adjunct faculty in EE Dept at IIT, Bombay, University of Mumbai and CEERI (CSIR) Pilani for post graduate courses. Has co-authored a book with Prof G. Kumar for Artech House, USA and published over 320 research papers in international/national journals and conference proceedings. He holds 3 patents and filed three patents. He has been in advisory capacity for many international/national conferences, engineering colleges, chaired many sessions and delivered several invited talks. Mr. Kailas K Sawant, graduated in BE (Electronics Engineering) in 2001 with distinctions. He received his ME in Electronics Engineering with specialisation in Telecommunications from the Rajarambapu Institute of Technology, An Autonomous Organisation, affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, 2005. He has a 14 years of teaching and industry experience (2005 to 2009).  Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics Engineering, DIAT (DU), Pune. Prior to this organization he served with University of Poona, Poona,  as a Lecturer and then Assistant Professor, where he taught on microwave and RF technology and did the research work on these areas as well as in Microcontrollers, Embedded Systems etc. He is pursuing his PhD in Electronics Engineering, with emphasis on Microwave, Electromagnetic, and Antennas, at the Defence University, DIAT (DU), Pune. Brizel_Raj Dr. A A Bazil Raj Asst. Professor

Dr. A A Bazil Raj obtained  his B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, and  M.E degree in Communication Systems & Ph.D degree in Information and Communication Technology from the Anna University, Chennai. His research work on Free Space Optical Communication was fully funded by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), New Delhi,  under the ER&IPR project.  Since, October 2015, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics Engineering in DIAT (DU), Pune. Prior to this institute he was a faculty in the Research, Development and Establishment (RD&E) section of Laser Communication Laboratory (LCL) facility in Thanjavur from 2002 to 2015.

He published four books that are designed based on his teaching and research experience. He has authored 33 scientific papers published in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. He has delivered invited talks, chaired  technical sessions in national and international conferences.  He has successfully completed  research projects sponsored by government and non-government sectors/laboratories. He is a Reviewer in various journals of IEEE, Springer, OSA, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, SAGE and Elsevier etc., He is also an active editorial board member of the reputed journals. Dr. G. Unnikrishnan received his B. Tech and M. Tech degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum in the years 1991 and 1993 respectively. He started his career in the Indian Engineering Service (IES) as Asst. Station Engineer at Doordarshan Kendra, Ahmedabad in the year 1993 and served in IES till 1998. He completed his Ph.D from the Department of Physics at IIT Delhi in the year 2001. His thesis was titled “Investigations on some algorithms and architectures for optical encryption”. One of the research papers that he published in the year 2000 in Optics Letters is listed as one of the most cited papers from the Dept. of Physics at IIT Delhi. He worked as postdoctoral researcher at Fitzpatrick center for Photonics at Duke University, USA (2001-2004), University College Dublin, Ireland (2004-2007) and Institut fur Technishe Optik, Stuttgart, Germany (2007-2008). He was a recipient of Alexander Von Humboldt fellowship for the year 2007. In the year 2008, he joined DRDO as Scientist E at IRDE Dehradun and was the project leader of the DRDO programme on Micro-optics and Nanophotonics. He has around 35 publications in peer reviewed international journals. He was the co-editor of a monogram titled Night Vision and Electro-optics: A technology Review published by IRDE Dehradun. He was also the co-editor of the special section Guest Editorial on Metamaterials and Photonic Nanostructures of the Journal of Nanophotonics. Pawan K Khanna was born on 23rd March, 1963 (Banda, UP). He completed his MSc from Bundel Khand University, Jhansi and went on to complete his PhD in Oganometallic Chemistry of Se & Te from IIT Bombay in 1989-90 under the able guidance of Professor HB Singh.  Subsequently, he went to Queens’ University of Belfast  and University of Wales at Swansea (UK) for his post-doctoral research in the group of Professor Christopher P Morley during 1989-1992. He returned to India and joined C-MET, Pune after a brief stint at Industry and IIT Bombay from 1993 to 1995.  He was awarded the BOYSCAST fellowship of DST, govt of India during 1998-99 to work on quantum dots driven  from the organometallic chemistry at University of St. Andrews, Scotland (UK) with Professor David J Cole-Hamilton. He moved to his current position of Professor and Head of Applied Chemistry Department at Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a deemed University of the ministry of defence, govt of India, in 2011 where he was also dean of academic affairs at DIAT from March 2011-March 2013. He has published over 160 research papers and has applied for more than 10 patents. He has guided more than 20 Master students and several young post-doctoral fellows as well as young scientists at his work place. Currently 8 PhD students are pursuing their research under his guidance on organometallic chemistry, materials chemistry and nanotechnology. He has completed 11 sponsored projects and was part of several national committees. British Council conducted workshop at NCL innovation centre awarded his group –‘the Best Entrepreneurs award in 2008’. Presently he is working as University Librarian, DIAT (DU), Pune, Pune.  Prior to joining the Institute, he worked as Chief Librarian (Senior Vice President), Osian’s Center for Archiving, Research and Development, Mumbai; Librarian and Head - Indian Institute of Management, Ahemedabad; Chief  Librarian at XLRI-School of Management, Jamshedpur; Assistant Librarian, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur  and Librarian, P.M.N.M Dental College and Hospital, Bagalkot.

He has 28 years of experience in Medical, Engineering, Management and Archive and University Libraries. He also worked as a lecturer in Library and Information Science in Siddaganga Women’s College at Tumkur, coordinated several Management Development Programmes at XLRI Jamshedpur, organized national and international conferences and has 55 publications in reputed journals, books chapters and conference proceedings and 4 Books and Editor of the Journals and Newsletters. Complied Biography and Bibliography of “Bachchanalia: The Film and Memorabilia of Amitabh Bachchan”.  He was awarded Best Archivist-2007 by the Visual Art Gallery – India habitat Centre/Osian’s - Connoisseurs of Art Pvt., Ltd.,  New Delhi, Institute Facility of the Year (ICL – Digital Library) DIAT/DRDO, Pune. He is a member of many professional associations like ILA, IASLIC, BOSLA, SIS, ADINET, KLA and MANLIBNET. Member of Board of Studies (Gujarath University, Ahmedabad) & Tata Institute of Social Science Mumbai (2008-11), Attended national and International conferences and Chaired the conferences, Resource person for UGC-Refresher Programme. His area of specialization includes information technology, organization and management of information system, re-engineering of library services, design and development of virtual information services, research methodology and personnel management. ..
