(Brief Description / Abstract) :

Dr. Manisha J Nene is heading the Computer Science and Engineering department at Defence Institute of Advanced Technology DIAT, Defense Research Development Organization DRDO, an establishment under the Ministry of Defence, INDIA. She has 20 plus years of experience in the industry, research, and academia. She has received her bachelor's and master's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Pune; and a Ph.D. from Defence Institute of Advanced Technology DIAT, Defense Research Development Organization DRDO, an establishment under the Ministry of Defence, INDIA. 

Dr. Nene's significant contributions are in the area of Cyber-Security and Artificial Intelligence. Her areas of interest are secure Cyber-Physical Systems CPS, secure Sensor Networks, Self-Organizing Networks, Analysis of Algorithms, Data Analytics, High-Performance Computing, Modelling and Simulations, Quantum Computing and Algorithms. While contributing as a Key-Note speaker & session chair in various International Conferences & forums, she has reviewed and authored many book chapters, 120 plus publications in reputed international journals and conferences, and seven-plus Indian Patents in the pipeline. She has guided three PhDs, forty-plus Post Graduate thesis in Cyber Security and AI; and currently, three students are pursuing Ph.D. with her. She is a recipient of IETE's Smt Triveni Devi Award for more than a decades of contribution in ICT for societal developments, research, and academia, and ten plus Best Research Paper Award in International Conferences. Having presented research papers in international forums in Africa, the US, and Europe, have conducted the first of its kind International Symposium in Quantum Information Technology in 2019. She is a member of DRDO's National Task Force for Quantum Computing since 2019; and is a member of ACM, IEEE, IETE, and CSI.
